The property, located in the Municipality of Radda<\/strong>(Siena Province) , stands on a hill, on the top of which there is the village of Campomaggio<\/strong>, dominated by an eighteenth-century manor house. The birth of the village, currently used as an accommodation business, dates back to the beginning of the eighteenth century and is located five kilometers North of the town of Radda in Chianti. The production area of Campomaggio is one of the most vocated areas of Chianti Classico<\/strong>, whose denomination is well-known worldwide.<\/p>

Today the Campomaggio Estate is led by Cecilia<\/strong> and Tommaso Castellani<\/strong>, who arrive bringing with them an external vision, an overall approach, a new and determined attitude.
\u00abSince 2016 with our staff – they say we have started an effective evaluation of the land of the estate and started the vinification in plots. A complex process which, however, has brought out the enormous potential of this company, which is now ready to make itself known for what it is and demonstrate the greatness of the land on which it stands. The historic vineyards, which were just over 25 hectares, have all been progressively replaced since 1990 when the property passed to the Castellani family. Over the years, the new ownership has also acquired additional vineyards, bringing the total area to 32 hectares<\/strong>. In 2016, a new vineyard was planted entirely with Sangiovese, with the final 3.5-hectare section completed in the spring of 2021.<\/p>

The vineyards are located at an average altitude between 280 and 480 metres a.s.l.<\/strong><\/p>

The soil<\/strong> is medium-textured, chalky-clay rich in rock and stone deriving from the disintegration of rocks (galestro and alberese). This unique conformation of the soils allows the roots to work very deeply, enabling a great balance between drainage capacity and water retention. Even the lower average temperature<\/strong> in this area, especially in the spring period, causes the vegetative development to be initially slowed down, producing less vigorously, so the future bunch will normally be smaller with a slower and not early ripening. The great thermal excursions<\/strong> during the summer period, especially in the vineyards above 300-350 m a.s.l. , favor the ripening of the grapes with the possibility of having a better phenolic component and therefore an increase in the olfactory characteristics.<\/p>

The main grape<\/strong> variety is Sangiovese<\/strong>, which represents 85% of the total production, In azienda si trovano anche Cabernet<\/strong> Sauvignon<\/strong> e Syrah<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
